5 Projects - 55%

Follow link above for details on each project, due dates, etc.  Deadlines will be strictly enforced unless prior arrangements are made with me for good cause.

2 pre-announced Quizzes - 20%

Each quiz counts 10% and is closed-book unless otherwise indicated.

Comprehensive Final Exam - 25%

I do not normally assign extra credit, but I sometimes do give it if students find problems with class materials in time to help others, or if they supplement class materials with something significantly new or useful.  Any extra credit is added on after the overall curve has been determined.

Grading will be on a curve, determined by looking at raw class results at the end of the semester.  I usually look for significant gaps in scores to set the cut-off points.  Grade calculations visible in Blackboard do not matter; I'll export the Blackboard scores into Excel instead.
