MailAssist

  • David Siegel ().  Penn Computer Science (Freshman).  resume

MailAssist is an application for accessing and interacting with a personal computer via email messages. Many people often find a need interact with their home/office computer from a remote location. Some of these people employ tools such as synchronization utilities and remote desktop software such as VNC to access their data remotely. MailAssist is more flexible, more open ended, and less complex than these solutions; synchronization software falls short when you need a file that hasn’t been scheduled to synchronize. Remote desktop software requires a remote desktop client, an increasingly common utility, but one not nearly as common or as simple as email. With MailAssist, you can effectively train your computer to respond to emails by performing useful tasks. See examples at http://assistants.mailassist.net
